Intrigue pioneered the improv competition format in 2010. Dancers compete in 45-second freestyle rounds to randomly selected music. No choreography, no preparation — just you and the music. Scored on a 1.00–5.00 point system.

Each dancer performs a 45-second freestyle with a 10-second countdown. Music is randomly selected for each dancer by the DJ.
Mini (9 & under), Junior (10-12), Teen (13-15), Senior (16-21).
Scored on a 1.00-5.00 point system. Judges evaluate musicality, creativity, technique, and performance quality.
No pre-planned choreography. No acrobatic tricks longer than 8 counts.
No on-site registration available. Must register through DanceComp Genie prior to the event.

Listen to a wide variety of music and practice freestyling in different styles. Focus on musicality and being present in the moment.
Any and all styles are welcome. Judges look for authenticity, musicality, and creativity — not a specific style.
The Mini division accepts ages 9 and under. All ages are welcome to compete.
Division winners receive an exclusive Intrigue T-shirt and recognition at the awards ceremony.
